Why Reformer Pilates at Better Gym?

There are plenty of Reformer studios around. Most of them offer the same thing — a class with a screen or casual instructor, a booking system, a monthly fee.

We built Better Pilates differently.

Our Reformer Pilates studio is designed for one specific thing: helping you move better and feel stronger for the long run. That means instructor-led sessions, movement that meets your body exactly where it is today, and a whole approach built around the way the body actually needs to be trained. Because how you train now shapes how you'll feel, move, and live decades from now.

That's what training for longevity looks like — and that's what our Reformer Pilates classes are built around.

Why It Works When Other Training Hasn’t.

The training that worked in your 20s often stops working — or starts hurting — by your 40s and 50s. Joints get stiffer. Backs get grumpier. Recovery takes longer.

Reformer Pilates was practically designed for this stage of life. It builds real strength without pounding your joints. It restores mobility in the hips, spine and shoulders where most of us hold tension. It rebuilds the deep stabilising muscles that everyday life gradually switches off.

You don't need to power through pain to get results here. You need to move well, breathe deeply, and show up consistently. That's exactly what Reformer Pilates teaches you to do.

Inside The Studio.

Our studio is designed to feel like the opposite of a busy gym or Pilates space — warmer, calmer, quieter. When you walk in, your instructor greets you by name, gets you set up on your reformer, and takes you through how the reformer works before class even starts.

There's no shouting, no punishing pace, and no wondering what to do next. Every class is 50 minutes of focused, guided movement — sequenced to build strength, mobility and control without overwhelming you.

You leave feeling clearer, calmer and stronger. Not wrecked. That's the point.

What Changes When You Practice Consistently.

  • Your posture straightens — the everyday slouch starts to disappear

  • Your core wakes up — the deep muscles that hold you together get stronger

  • Your back hurts less — for many members this is the first thing they notice

  • You move more freely — hips, spine and shoulders stop feeling locked

  • You feel calmer — the slower pace resets your nervous system

  • You get stronger — real strength, built through spring resistance

This is what training for the next 30 years looks like.

What Is A Reformer?

A Reformer is a purpose-built Pilates machine with a moving carriage, adjustable spring resistance, and a series of straps and bars that let you train your entire body from lying, seated, kneeling or standing positions.

The springs provide resistance — sometimes challenging, sometimes assisting — which means the machine can meet you exactly where you are. Beginners feel supported. More experienced members get pushed. Same reformer, entirely different workout.

If you've only ever seen Pilates on the mat, the Reformer is a completely different experience. It's the version most people fall in love with.

Foundation

Best for: First-timers and complete beginners

Brand new to Reformer Pilates? Start here.

A slower-paced, introductory class designed to teach you the basics of the reformer — how to set it up, how to use the springs and straps, and how the fundamental movements should feel in your body.

You'll leave with the confidence to walk into any of our other classes and know exactly what to do.

Beginner

Best for: New or returning members, injury recovery, pre and postnatal

Our foundation class. Perfect for anyone still building confidence on the reformer or wanting a slower, more approachable session.

Focuses on technique, alignment and full-body control at a pace that lets you actually feel every movement.

Intermediate

Best for: Members with a few weeks of Reformer under their belt

For those ready to challenge themselves further. A step up in pace, resistance and complexity — while still fully instructor-led and adaptable to your level.

Great for members who have the fundamentals down and want to build real strength and stamina on the reformer.

Upper Body & Core

Best for: Office workers, posture-focused training, upper body strengthening

A focused class targeting your back, shoulders, arms and core.

Ideal for undoing the effects of desk work, building upper body strength that supports everyday life, and improving posture from the top down.

Lower Body & Core

Best for: Anyone wanting to build lower body strength, stability and posture

A focused class targeting your glutes, hamstrings, quads, hips and deep core muscles.

Expect controlled resistance work, precision movements, and the kind of burn that reminds you Pilates is genuinely training — not stretching.

Flow

Best for: All levels. Especially anyone wanting to slow down

A slower, more intentional practice blending breath, control and lengthening holds.

Focused on flow, mobility and mindful movement rather than fatigue. The perfect way to unwind, reset and reconnect with your body.

Who Comes To Our Studio?

Our members aren't fitness models. They're everyday people navigating everyday life.

They're parents wanting to keep up with their kids. Office workers undoing years of sitting. People returning to movement after injury, illness, or a long break. Menopausal and pre-menopausal women looking after their long-term bone and joint health.

They come in a range of ages, shapes, and fitness levels. What they share is one thing — a desire to move well, feel better, and stay capable for a very long time.

If any of that sounds like you — you'll fit in here beautifully.
